Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! I'm excited to work with you this year! Please take some time to look over this site. I've left all of the posts from last school year up for you to have available during this school year. Maybe I taught a lesson better last year, so why get rid of it now!? :) If you have questions, please email me at kenneth.mach@k12northstar.org.

Thanks!
Mr. Mach

Lesson 5.1 Prime Factorization (Take two!)

Hi everyone! Well, based on the results of our warm-up, I decided to give Prime Factorization another try. There were many students that did a great job, but then there were others that had a hard time. That said, I wend over the material again, and assigned a few problems that you can find under the movie! Have a great night.

7th period homework
Do the prime factorization of the following: 1) 125 2) 250 3) 156 4) 2066

1st period homework
Do the prime factorization of the following: 1) 250 2) 2160 3) 2066

4th period homework
This class didn't have an assignment for "Take two" day. However, if you would like to do any of the problems above you certainly can! :)

Answers to the homework ::
*NOTE*  The "^" sign shows the use of an exponent. Therefore 5^3 means 5 to the power of 3 where 3 is the exponent and 5 is the base.

125 => 5^3
250 => 2 x 5^3
156 => (2^2) x 3 x 13
2160 => (2^4) x (3^3) x 5
2066 => 2 x 1033
