Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! I'm excited to work with you this year! Please take some time to look over this site. I've left all of the posts from last school year up for you to have available during this school year. Maybe I taught a lesson better last year, so why get rid of it now!? :) If you have questions, please email me at kenneth.mach@k12northstar.org.

Thanks!

Lessons 5.2 and 5.7 :: GCF and LCM

Hi everyone!! Turns out only a few people actually read what I write in this paragraph!! Too bad. So many of my 1st period class didn't even realize there was extra credit possible from yesterday's post! Wow.. It pays to read the directions first.

I decided to teach this topic a different way this time around. Please check out the video below to see how it works. The main trick is to divide by prime numbers until you no longer can. Once you have reached that point in the work multiply the column of prime numbers together to get the GCF, and then multiple the numbers that make the "L" of the exterior of your work together to get your LCM.

The homework is below. Only do numbers 1 - 6 from the worksheet. I included a page of my own work showing the answers. I hope that helps.
