Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! I'm excited to work with you this year! Please take some time to look over this site. I've left all of the posts from last school year up for you to have available during this school year. Maybe I taught a lesson better last year, so why get rid of it now!? :) If you have questions, please email me at kenneth.mach@k12northstar.org.

Thanks!

Converting Decimals to Fractions

Hey everyone! Here are the answers to the homework questions. Notes to the lesson are available in my room, so please take a look if you need them.

The keys to the assignment are:

1) What is the place value of the number on the far right? That is the denominator.

2) The entire number to the right of the decimal point becomes the numerator.

3) Simplify the fraction by looking for a number that goes into both the numerator and the denominator and dividing. Keep looking for common factors until you can not simplify further.

I hope that helps!
